Bringing Light into the Dark World of Orphans

A Closer Look at our Discipleship Curriculum

"Despite the growing focus by Christians on caring for orphaned children, there remains a tremendous need for quality resources that bring the truths of the Bible alive for orphans and help them grow over time into mature disciples of Christ. I’m so thankful that Orbie for Orphans is taking on this challenge, seeking to do so in a way that is both substantive and engaging."

~Jedd Medefind, President of Christian Alliance for Orphans and former leader of the Office of Faith-Based Initiatives under President George W. Bush

ON THE FRONT LINES WITH ORBIE FOR ORPHANS

Orbie for Orphans had the opportunity to field test Project 99 with 68 children in Leogane, Haiti. Being on the front lines was a profound experience on many levels. To hold these children, hear their stories and see their pain firsthand was overwhelming.

We left Haiti with the sense that their emotional and spiritual needs are great. But we also left knowing that each one is incredibly valued by God. They are worth rescuing! They are worth everything is takes to bring Project 99 to fulfillment.

Why water bottles with hygiene kits?

If you’ve ever been to a third world country, you might have been surprised to learn that your water bottle was your most valuable possession. Here’s why: *More than 3.4 million die each year from water, sanitation, and hygiene related causes. Nearly all of these deaths (99%) occur in the developing world.
• Every 20 seconds a child dies from water- related illnesses.
• According to an assessment commissioned by the United Nations, 4000 children die each day as a result of diseases caused by ingestion of filthy water.
